More than halfway through his second decade as guiding force behind Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors, Kenneth Bordewick has forged a new dimension in the world of luxury design; a dimension founded upon unrivaled splendor distinctly detailed and delivered in an atmosphere of professionalism fused with the personal attention required to fully develop perfection in spaces for living and working.
With nobility in his blood … his full titles are: His Grace Kenneth Bordewick, Duke of Perugia and Baron Von Vordenvik … Kenneth naturally turned his hand to creating luxury. Having earned degrees in Gemology and Diamondology from the Gemological Institute of America, he spent some years designing magnificent jewelry, winning the “Best New Designer” award in his debut show before launching his interior design career.
And what a career it is, with well-satisfied clients ranging across the spectrum of royalty from those born regal to Hollywood’s elite: HRH The Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales, HRH Bianca De Savoy, Crowned Princess of Italy and HRH His Majesty the late King Fouad of Saudi Arabia, HRH Princess Yasmin and HRH Princess Nora, Mariah Carey, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, the Jonas Brothers, Donald Trump, Sir Paul McCartney and the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Kenneth’s creations in luxury span the globe; from Beverly Hills to Manhattan to the great cities of Europe, the Persian Gulf to the exotic Far East, Bordewick-inspired opulence fashions luxurious surroundings for his A-list clients as elegantly in Vietnam as in Venezia.
No few accolades have been bestowed upon Kenneth recognizing results of his immense talent, discerning taste and superb style. In addition to an astounding six awards conferred by the Milan Design Fair, his was the honor of being the first non-Italian to win the prestigious “Designer of the Year 2009″ award from Colombo Stile and was named “International Designer of The Year 2009” by Jumbo Luxury Collection — two of the most prestigious furniture makers in the world.
Highly accomplished, it is Kenneth’s spirit, his caring and gentle manor, that allows his work to become fully incorporated into the lives of clients.
“I design for people,” he explains, “not museums, so a huge part of my responsibility is learning, not just my clients’ physical needs for the spaces they will inhabit, but also the deeper, more subtle desires; those essential, yet ephemeral elements that humans respond to in their environment, those that convey a sense of them.”
The scope of Kenneth’s designs goes beyond the fabulous private homes of the world’s most discerning. Luxury hotels have also benefitted from Bordewick’s attention; The Savoy in London, Condess de Barcelona in Spain, Bauer il Palazzo in Venice, Italy have all felt the touch of luxury that is Kenneth’s hallmark.
Nightclubs and restaurants around the globe have also transformed under his guidance. Projects in USA (Beverly Hills, Bel Air, San Francisco, Manhattan, Hillsboro), Spain (Barcelona, Marbella, Madrid and Seville), Great Britain (London, Kent, Sussex), Italy (Venice, Milan, Rome, Capri and Florence), Dubai, China, Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi and France (Paris) are examples of his work.
Most recently, Kenneth was chosen to design the VIP areas for The Golden Globe Awards, a successful endeavor fully appreciated by the A+ talent accommodated on this star-studded night and widely praised in the media.
“The Presenter’s Lounge was designed to combine the glamorous luxury of Hollywood’s Golden Age with the glitter of today’s top stars,” Mr. Bordewick says of the room that showcased $800,000 in vintage pieces from Lalique shipped from France for the occasion.
Kenneth’s company, Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors, is often featured in top design magazines including Architectural Digest, House and Garden and Beverly Hills 213.
